Back in Atlanta

I am back in school as the fall semester starts today.

For the first time in more than 3 years, I am car-less. Not the first time in my life though and I live on-campus, so lack of a car should not be a major problem.

Whenever I return to school after being home for a week or more, it takes me a while to get used to being alone. The weekend trips home are easy; the time with Amber passes very quickly. But the two weeks I spent with her this time mean I miss her that much more. We made the decision to live separately for a while because of my Ph.D. and her career, but it has been very difficult. If it had not been for the fact that we have been married for so long, our relationship might have suffered badly.
