We watched The Matrix Revolutions and Kill Bill: Vol. 1 over the weekend. The Matrix Revolutions is an OK movie in my opinion. All the reviews and blog posts about it that I have read have panned the movie, but I liked it better than The Matrix Reloaded. Reloaded had a lot of bad philosophisizing… Continue reading Matrix and Kill Bill

I am Back
So I am back in Atlanta. The trip back is always much worse than the trip out. But such is life. We watched Secondhand Lions and Matchstick Men. Both are good entertaining movies.
Movies and Women
The movie “Baran”1 is being shown on campus. Forwarding the message about the screening, the Muslim Student Association (MSA) President at our school added a quote: “The movie is absolutely clean and only on rare occasions do you see a woman, and even then she would have her head covered.”2 I am not sure whether… Continue reading Movies and Women
I am Back
I am back from Jersey. It was such nice weather there today (except for the rain) and it’s so HOT in Atlanta. Our weekend was eventless, though we did wander around Long Island (the Hamptons specifically) and watched the movie Open Range.
Movies We Watched
Narc: An interesting movie, but not as good as Training Day. 25th Hour: I did not like this movie. It did not hang together as well as it should have. Too bad since the premise was interesting. Frida: I liked the way they used the paintings for some animations and moods. The Quiet American: I… Continue reading Movies We Watched
Entertaining Movies
We watched Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl this week. It is an entertaining movie and was fun to watch. Johnny Depp and Keira Knightley were both difficult to recognize. We didn’t realize Keira was the same actress as the tom-boyish soccer player Jules in Bend It Like Beckham. We also… Continue reading Entertaining Movies
Movies I Watched
I watched Seabiscuit and Bad Boys II this weekend. Frankly, I could have done without Bad Boys II. It is full of action and like a lot of the action movies it has no plot at all. Plus there is nothing great about the action either. It also uses formulaic humor to get a few… Continue reading Movies I Watched
X2 and T3
This was the weekend of sequels and single letters. We finally watched X2. It’s good; in fact, it’s better than the first one. But you definitely should have seen X-men before watching X2. There is not much character development and screen time is divided almost equally. Definitely one of my favorite comic book movies. We… Continue reading X2 and T3
Movies
Since our camping plans were cancelled due to rain, all we really did was watch some movies. Bend it like Beckham is a typical comedy showing the clash between immigrants and their children. It is about a Sikh family in Britain. Their daughter wants to play soccer which they consider a bad thing for girls.… Continue reading Movies
The Matrix: Reloaded
Wow! The Matrix: Reloaded made $91 million this weekend. Add to that the $42m on thursday and it has already made $134m. I haven’t seen it yet. My roommate and I were planning on going saturday, but when we checked online the midnight show was already sold out. So we played Hearts of Iron instead.… Continue reading The Matrix: Reloaded
